The Oregon International Air Show is July 17-19, 2015, at the Hillsboro Airport.
The Blue Angels are making a return, as are the National Guard and many other specialty planes doing demonstration flights and air gymnastics.
Traffic will be heavy in the area during prime show times such as the opening night fireworks and Saturday and Sunday. Brookwood and Cornell are closed or have restricted traffic during most of those days. While most of the noise will be restricted to the airport area, expect extreme noise and vibration over us during the Blue Angels exhibition times.
The Annual Summer Fest at the Rice Northwest Rocks and Minerals Museum is August 1-2, 2015. They will be a variety of special events all weekend long at the museum including Fred and Wilma Flintstone and the Flintstone Mobile, a visit by Mrs. Oregon, and more than 25 vendors and exhibits featuring handmade jewelry and lapidary work and educational programs for kids and family.
This year is expected to be the biggest ever after the museum was featured on a local travel television show.
Please note that Brookwood exit will be closed to West Union so access the museum from Jackson School or Cornelius Pass Road via West Union to Groveland.

The Lavender Festival in Washington County and neighboring counties is July 11-12, 2015, only this year. The list of locations, maps, and a tour filter is available on the Oregon Lavender Destinations site.
Be sure and stop by the many lavender festival locations including those in Helvetia and our own Jackson School Lavender farm where they are offering cut-your-own lavender for home use and culinary use now.
It’s that time when fun stinks! August 7, 8, and 9th is the Annual Elephant Garlic Festival at Jessie Mays Community part in North Plains, Oregon.
There will be music, food, and vendors with arts and crafts and all things garlic all day.
The event is being heavily promoted so expect traffic along Glencoe and West Union into North Plains to be busy and clogged during high volume times of the day.
The Washington County Visitor’s Center published a list of events in the Tualatin Valley for July 2015. They include Oregon Craft Beer Month and the Brewfest at the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse, Beaverton Dance festivals, the Drink Pink rose wine festival featuring 25 wineries in the Willamette Valley, car shows in Gaston and Forest Grove, and the Tualatin Crawfish Festival at the end of the month.
So much to do in July!
